Phnom Penh goes to France!
The Phnom Penh and Cambodia underground scene is exploding at the moment! We’ve just got news of an awesome event that will be happening at the prestigious L’Aeronef venue in Lille, Northern France on the 9th of January 2016
Cambodia’s number one band, Dub Addiction, Khmer HipHop collective KlapYaHandz and 2 of Phnom Penh’s top DJs – Sir Alan Ritchie and Phnom Penh Underground’s own DJ Sequence will be representing The Charming City at the Phnom Penh Music Connection.
“In the Renaissance setting of lille3000, the L’Aeronef prepares a special evening for you under the sign of Cambodia. Deprived of any form of culture under the Khmer Rouge regime in the 70s , the country is now experiencing an incredible effervescence under the leadership of a youth who is interested in any new form of musical expression.”
We’re really looking forward to us – its a sign of the growing world-wide interest in the Cambodian Underground Scene (and in Cambodia in general) – and it can only be a positive thing for all of us working to boost proper underground music in Cambodia.
