The Courtyard – what an awesome venue!

So please come and join us for what promises to be one of the events of the year – entry is free but donations will be taken for Develop Boueng Kak – a grassroots organisation that improves the lives of the community around the Boeung Kak Lakeside.

Before the draining of 90% of the lake in 2010, the lakeside was a thriving area, providing livelihood to a large Khmer community via tourism and other means. From 2008 onwards, around 3,500 families, have been forcibly evicted from their homes surrounding Boeung Kak Lake to make way for building projects.

Develop Boueng Kak are aiming to work together with the local community to clean up and transform the neighbourhood into a thriving “arts village” which will bring much needed income to local inhabitants.
