BEATS NOIR by MUTE SPEAKER aka Rob O’Hara, who is a producer & DJ currently residing in Kampot, Cambodia via the UK & Ireland.
His music is Hip Hop / Beats based, but also incorporates elements of soul, dub, afro, asian & psychedelia. He has released six full-length albums and one EP on various labels, including his own ‘Liquid Noise’ imprint. Rob’s most recent LP, “Jong Wuk”, was created almost entirely from Cambodian samples & field recordings, and was released as a fund raising project, all sales going to the LMDS (Landmine Disability Support).
During a Mute Speaker DJ set, you can expect underground & ‘golden era’ hip hop, future beats, neo soul, afro funk, African jazz, & vintage Asian vibes – and any combination of any of these, and more.
