Cambodia Underground Club Guide 16/10/14
Its been a while since we’ve put out an Underground Club Guide (why? because we’ve been too damm busy!) but the scene’s being going from strength to strength.
This week is no exception, with new venues seemingly springing up over night and 13 amazing events for yr clubbing pleasure this weekend (as well as 7 fantastic regular nights).
Its a big weekend for Phnom Penh party madmen The Kimchi Collective, who have a weekend of fun lined up to celebrate their 3rd birthday. Look out for an exclusive interview (and hopefully a mix) coming on Friday to give you the lowdown…
So lets have a look at this weekend – too many nights to mention here, so we’re going to concentrate on the one-off nights – for the full line-up with all the fantastic regular nights, check our events calendar.
Kick off Friday at Agenda, a brand new night at MetaHouse, hosted by Salmon Allstar, one of our fave DJs, the Phatt Controller, CAB + special guest. They’ll be spinning “the best in breaks, techno, electro, drum and bass.”

Drop Dead Disco makes a welcome return to the capital, with mainman Simon C Vent promising to “set the place on fire” (Not literally I hope – arson is a very serious crime). Catch one of PPs best House DJs at the new Beat Club on st148.

Meanwhile, over in Siem Reap, the Down To Angkor crew are hosting not one but two street parties this weekend (make sure to get an early night tonight boys). Catch the Collective at the Corner Bar as they party like its 2099!

Finally for Friday, join French DJ L’Elf for some deep Trance and Techno sounds @ Pontoon Pulse, supported by the Dynamic Duo of Alan Ritchie and DJ Shaman.

Those Krazy Kimchi Kollective Kats kick off the weekend with their Pre-Birthday Bash at the Samai Distillery. Please note that this is strictly limited to 100 people so let them know if you’ll be coming along. And make sure you bring some cake!

In Part of 2 of their birthday bash, Kimchi are at Code Red for their Birthday Party! BFox, CynCity, danbeck & very special guests Albie Samreth & DJ Strangefruit will be rocking till the wee hours. Essential event of the weekend!

Part 2 of the Street Party mania for the Down To Angkor crew on Saturday, where they reclaim the streets around SoulTrain and Yolo. Proper underground House and Techno are the order of the day – highly recommended!

PS, we have to big up our Soundcloud Page – we’ve got 44 mixes from the cream of Cambodia’s DJ talent with more being added every week (Look out for mixes from Alan Ritchie, Lefty Stryker and DJ Sequence amongst many others).
We’re now getting about 1000 listens a month – not bad for what must be one of the smallest clubbing capitals in the world!
