Its a mega weekend this weekend in Cambodian clubbing with the Pchum Ben Festival heralding one of the busiest weekends we’ve ever covered….

Pchum Ben a time when many Cambodians pay their respects to deceased relatives of up to 7 generations.

Its also a time for general festivities and a national holiday and there are 14 amazing one-offs on offer alongside all the great regular nights

So lets have a look at this weekend – too many nights to mention here, so we’re going to concentrate on the one-off nights – for the full line-up with all the fantastic regular nights, check our events calendar.


velvet nights Kick off the evening with some Velvet Nights at the RiverHouse Lounge, where the Dynamic Duo of Tim Coates and style guru danbeck will entertain you with “electronic music of the highest distinction, many genres, many eras, many, many good tunes.” Sounds delightful!
ppjungle Not sure about the name (didn’t someone do a mix with that name recently?!) but down at the MetaHouse, you can join DJ Spectrum in Phnom Penh Jungle for “a pulsating blast back to the best jungle and drum & bass anthemsBooyaka!
spacevoyage Join the man with best trousers in Phnom Penh, StrangeFruit, for a Space Voyage into the very best of deep, deep house alongside Franka Orbeck over at the Nomad Club (at the bottom of the Dusk till Dawn building). Gonna be awesome!
midnight Luckily the Midnight Express at Harem Shisha Lounge is not a 1 way ticket to a Turkish jail but instead the very best in afterhours electronic sounds provided by Tim Coates and Kimchi Collective‘s very own danbeck including very best in house, techno, electro and vintage gold. 11pm till very late
shades Get your Shades on over at Code Red for another fantastic edition of the this ever popular Hip-Hop, Funk, Soul, Reggae & Dancehall party with sounds supplied by the excellent DJ Bree alongside RackyZ. Always a great night with a proper party atmosphere!
brugal The Latin Quarter host the return of the ever popular Brugal Nights, where you’ll find DJ Bluesabelle spinning soulful goodness with tropical dance, latin beats and pure good vibrations (alongside loads of Rum, presumably!)
clash Last, and certainly not least, there’s an amazing weekend of parties in Kampot with the Battle of the Titans Part 1. Kick off the weekend with man-about-town Simon C Vent (Drop Dead Disco), who’ll be dropping House bombs over at the Bodhi Villa…Part 2 comes on Saturday!


bubbles What better way can there be to spend your Saturday then down at CodeRed in the company of those superb DJs Donabelle & Nora? They’ll be spinning the very best in deep sexy house at Bubbles for a clued up and crazy crowd – highly recommended!
no recall It may have an odd title. but all you need to know about No Recall at the Frost Bar is that one of the best DJs in the country, Sir Alan Ritchie, will be spinning some crucial House and Techno. He’s just been nominated at one of the citys best DJs by the Advisor magazine – so find out why!
luke Over at the excellent Pontoon Pulse, Aussie DJs Chantal and Cool Hand Luke will be supplying “quality disco, house, funk, soul, boogie and world grooves ” So put on yr dancin’ shoes and get ready to cut some moves!
clash Over in Kampot, the party madness continues with Battle of the Titans Part2. This time, its all about the sweet reggae vibes with MC Kaztet D , DJ FILTH & DJ Kdam Elboixo rocking some sweet vibrations over at at Naga House.
jumping In a jumping mood? Then Jumping Fever is the night for you! DJ Proff will be providing a stomping selection of Reggae, DanceHall, RnB and HipHop for the jumping, springing and skipping massive.
tech At the newly renamed D-Club, DJ Tech12 will be laying down his usual blend of HipHop anthems with the latest street bangers as well as loads of turntablist craziness…Woo-Hah!
space Finally, over at MetaHouse, join DJ Antaro in his Space Garden for “progressive house beats and techno music.
Chill-Out-Area, special decoration, video projections and lots of surprises!” Sounds fantastic!


mic On the 27th of September, lightbox, in partnership with the DAO of LIFE, present Made In Cambodia // M.I.C., an event bringing together breakers, skaters, beatboxers and street artists from across the Kingdom, celebrating and helping to grow the street culture community in Cambodia. Looks like a wicked event in Kampot..more details as we get them!
ragga A date for yr diary over at ShowBoxWat A Gwaan will be laying down Reggae, Ragga and the best in bass music at Ragga Box Beats (and maybe we’ll be hearing something from Myles “I’m a DJ now?”!) Lokks like a night not to be missed at one of our fave venues.
