Top 10 mixes (so far) in 2015
Our SoundCloud Page (https://soundcloud.com/phnom-penh-underground) continues to blaze the way for the DJ scene in Cambodia – we’re up to over 16000 plays (and we’re getting over 1500 a month) which is awesome for one of the smallest clubbing capitals in the world.
We’ve now got 87 amazing mixes from DJs active on the Cambodia scene, going all the way across the musical spectrum – from DnB to Techno, from House to HipHop and all points between.
We’ve had listeners from over 50 countries- from Finland to Portugal and Luxembourg to Slovakia (hello to all our listeners in The Bolivarian Republic of Venuzela!), which just shows the recognition that the Cambodian Underground scene (and it’s fantastic DJs) is getting from all over the world.
2015 has seen some really exceptional mixes from some very talented DJs that its been our privelege to host and share – so, without any further ado, here’s the Top 10 (based on number of plays) for 2015 so far!
1. In like a bullet at Number 1, the man they call Sir Alan Ritchie graced us with an awesome mix exploring the phunkier side of House and Techno that made a big stir in Phnom Penh and beyond

2.Its really heartening to see one of the first Cambodian DJs on Phnom Penh Underground, DichGee, coming in at number two in the charts with a great mix that shows the rising potential of Khmer DJs

3. Phnom Penh Underground founder DJ Sequence comes in at number 3 with the first of 2 DnB mixes for his monthly UB Radio show

4. The self styled House Terrorist, Mr Nick Chandler has been delivering some solid House and Techno mixes and the number 4 entry is no exception

5. Its Sir Alan Ritchie once again with a mix representing his 40 Thieves collective. Expect a healthy dose of Funk, Soul and more…

6. A new addition to the Phnom Penh scene, Moudy, has 2 mixes in the top ten, showcasing his deep and spiritual House and Techno sound…

7. One of our favourite DJs, Nora Haidee, make a welcome appearance in the top 10 with a seriously deep exploration of underground Techno…more please!

8.2nd entry for that man, DJ Sequence…another blasting selection of DnB/Jungle to counteract all the House in Phnom Penh!

9. In April, Moudy gave us another fantastic mix – “Sounds inside my head“…and what fantastic sounds they are too!
